How to Track Advertising Gaarrunteed!!!
Charlie Deer and I got together to talk yellow pages recently, good timing to, we were talking about how to track where your calls come from, which phone book or newspaper ad and we came up with this: The key to tracking advertising, is when the time is right in your conversation on a new sales call, ask, “What page in the phone book did you get our number?” They will either tell the page number which will tells which book they’re using, whether from the yellow or white pages and the heading they are calling from. Good chance they’ll correct you very kindly and say something like; “Nope! got it from the postcard ya’ll sent” or “got it from today’s paper” (then same question, What page?) or “Saw your truck run a stop sign and almost hit an old lady and I realized I needed a furnace tune-up” Point is they’ll tell ya exactly where they got your number. Ask on every new sales call, track it and review the results daily, weekly or at least monthly.
